Talking about his longest six, It happened in 2010 at Bridgetown in the early twenty20 tournament. He hit a 116-meter sixer against the Indian bowler Yusuf Pathan.

He shot a 117-meter sixer in January 2005 in Perth against an Australian bowler in the ODI format shocking all the people in the stadium.

He scored a breathtaking 118-meter six during the third ODI of India’s tour in New Zealand. What makes this more memorable and dramatic is that Dhoni was so sure of his shot that he did not even turn to look at the ball once.

At number 6 we have an Australian cricketer named Mark Waugh. He scored a powerful 120-meter sixer. Now this happened on 21st November 1997 during the second test match of New Zealand’s tour to Australia. After this, he was named as the most gifted stroke master in the history of cricket. 

5. Corey Anderson

Anderson played for New Zealand as a batting all-rounder. He shot to fame when he deposited a delivery from an Indian bowler to the roof of Mclean Park in Napier, New Zealand. Scoring a hat trick with 4 sixes in a row in the first ODI against India in 2014. One of his shots crossed a distance of 122 meters.

4. Yuvraj Singh

How can we forget the name of Yuvraj Singh while talking of sixes? Everyone must know him for his magnificent six sixes in an over against Stuart Broad in the T20 2007 World Cup. He is an idol for youngsters with his dedication and hard work on the field. 

2007 was the year of Yuvraj Singh. In the T20 World Cup against Australia in 2007, he hit a huge 125-meter sixer securing himself a spot in the Top 9 longest sixes in the history of cricket.

3. Martin Guptil

Hailing from New Zealand, Guptil was an opening batter in all formats of cricket. Despite being nicknamed “Two Toes” because of him losing 3 of his toes in a forklift accident. Martin is one of the most successful players in the world at the moment. 

He smashed a giant six during a T20 match against South Africa in 2012 that traveled a distance of 127 meters making him number 3 on our list.

2. Bret Lee

If you are new to cricket then let me tell you that Bret Lee is one of the most feared fast bowlers in the world. But there are times when even the bowlers have to take the reigns in their hands and handle the batting as well.

It was one of those times when Australia was playing against West Indies in 2005 and Bret Lee hit the ball that crossed the stadium and landed on the stadium’s roof traveling a distance of 143 meters. This shocked the entire stadium. Even though they lost that match Bret Lee had secured his name on the list.

And Boom Boom rocks again as he shoots the longest and greatest six in the history of world cricket with a distance of a whopping 158 meters against South Africa in 2021. 

Both the teams were going toe to toe due to which the then captain of Pakistan’s team had to step in and roll the dice in his favor. As he hit the six, the crowd erupted in roars and cheers with the umpire crossing his arms above his head instead of the usual signal for sixer.

This moment created history for over a billion cricket fans all over the world and put an end to the 28-year-long wait for the World Cup. Though this shot traveled a mere distance of 96 meters, there is not one person who does not remember it nostalgically. In honor, The seat where the ball dropped in the stadium was named after Mahendra Singh Dhoni immortalizing the moment.
