Rupinder Gandhi – Who was he and Why was he Famous?

Rupinder Gandhi is a well-known figure among youth, and his real-life narrative offers vital lessons for teens. His father, Hardev Singh Aujla, gave him the name Rupinder Gandhi in honor of his birth on Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.

Rupinder Gandhi grew up to become a youth icon because of his devotion to assisting his population. He was not only an outstanding student, but he also had the tenacity to work for the benefit of his community. As a result, his popularity soared among teenagers and other groups of people.

Rupinder Gandhi’s Real Story and Bio

Rupinder Gandhi’s birth date is 2nd October 1979 and he was born in Rasalpur (Rasulada) village of Khanna city, Punjab, with an intelligent mind. He was born with a mindset to help others and he effectively helped his villagers in every possible way.

As a result, Rupinder became the hero of his villagers who would respect him and show their affection towards him. His villagers made him the Sarpanch of the village.

Being an intelligent student at his village school, Rupinder decided to carry out his higher education. Thus, he took admission to Punjab University Chandigarh. He discovered that living in a hostel broadened his horizons in numerous areas.

Youth Icon “Rupinder Gandhi”

Not only was he a meritorious student, but he was also an excellent national football player at Punjab University Chandigarh. Owing to his capabilities and youthfulness, Rupinder Gandhi gained recognition as a local youth icon.

This phase of his life transformed him completely and gave him a new identity. As time progressed, a Gandhi group came into existence in Chandigarh in his name. At this time, Rupinder started involving himself in fights and hence he invited many enemies into his life.

Who Killed Rupinder Gandhi? Why did he get Killed?

After entering the PU level politics, Rupinder Gandhi started gaining popularity in PU election campaigns. Hence, it led to an increase in the number of his enemies. He would listen to students’ problems and fight for them wholeheartedly.

Rupinder’s growing popularity made him everyone’s hero. Soon, he started fighting with political parties and took sharp actions against policemen. This was a tough phase in his life as it invited bad consequences for him. His quarrels with policemen and political parties invited many unwanted criminal cases against him.

Thus, Rupinder Gandhi started living outside the PU campus and he would spend his time in his village by doing welfare tasks for villagers. Unfortunately, it led to further increment in his enemies and his biggest enemy group “The Wrestlers Group” (Pehlwaan Group) entered his life.

One day, Rupinder was working on his farm when the Pehlwaan Group attacked him while he was alone. They asked him to join them, but he refused straight away. It infuriated the group and they kidnapped him on the 5th of September 2003.

They kept him in the village Saudi for some days and finally killed him with a gun on 9 September 2003. After that, the Pehlwaan Group threw his body into Bakhra Canal. Rupinder Gandhi’s death brought a severe shock to his villagers and friends.

He was just 24 when he got killed by gangsters, known as The Pehlwaan Group, which openly took responsibility for the killing. Later on, police arrested the killers. But, till now, people remember Rupinder Gandhi for his welfare activities and youthfulness.
