Since the age of just 2, she had symptoms of “Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.” These symptoms include pain in the joints of the knees, hands, feet, ankles, shoulders, and elbows. Her parents used to carry her on their shoulders as she couldn’t walk properly. Moreover, it was also difficult for such a young kid to explain what she was going through.

At the age of 7, she was diagnosed with Arthritis, and at that time, almost 35 joints were inflamed. However, she went through so many surgeries to get them treated. During this time, she has been put on really high concentrations of drugs to treat her condition.

As she grew up, Mikhaila Peterson started experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. With time her symptoms became so severe that she was diagnosed with clinical depression and was also put on medications to treat depression. Throughout her battle, she was feeling constantly fatigued.

Mikhaila’s diet transition

As she grew up, Mikhaila went through numerous surgeries and was on medication throughout. Till her college years, her diet included many organic foods, and the meat was also a part of her diet. This impacted her skin and overall health as well. After all the advice from doctors, nothing works out for her. Just for vanity purposes, she started doing research herself, and she realized that gluten was impacting her and causing all the skin issues.

Thus, Mikhaila cut down on gluten, but she kept on researching and went to the details of everything. Even after cutting out on gluten, there wasn’t much difference, so she started experimenting with her diet. However, she began eliminating a few things at once and observing her skin for a few days or weeks.

She tried out everything and became gluten-free and dairy-free while looking for the allergen that was impacting her skin. On this diet, she got to know her body really well, and with time, she realized that she could control all her issues by having control over her diet.

How Mikhaila Peterson Became Carnivore?

After getting to know her body and trying the elimination diet. She realized that she could tackle all of her issues and even depression by having control over her diet. Thus, she stopped taking her medication and anti-depressants.

She eliminated gluten, sugar, and dairy. However, she stuck to a low-carb diet but still, she was going through a lot of problems. Mikhaila was having meat and some lettuce, but still, she knew something was wrong. So she met Shaun Baker, who is the author of the Carnivore diet. He influenced Mikhaila Peterson to stick to the carnivore diet.

She also knew that meat was something that wasn’t impacting her, so she gave it a try. Within a few weeks, Mikhaila realized that her skin issues were going away. She could notice the visible difference, and she went through transition symptoms as well.

Her arthritis was gone, and her skin was getting clear. Moreover, within six weeks of the transition, her depression also started to fade away. She also encouraged her mother to give this carnivore diet a try. However, she also convinced her father to start a carnivore diet to deal with his depression.

Nutritional facts about the Carnivore diet

Eating just beef and beef fat is definitely unhealthy. This diet can seriously impact blood lipid levels. It can also lead to an insufficient intake of vitamins and minerals. Moreover, a carnivore diet has no dietary fiber, which can increase the risk of diabetes.

However, in the case of Mikhaila, this diet seems to be working for her, but that doesn’t mean you should adopt anything blindly. This is why nutritionist plans out customize a diet plan for everyone to meet their nutritional needs.

The Bottom Line

After all the above discussion, I can say that diet is extremely subjective and which is why I dont support Mikhaila Peterson blindly promoting the Carnivore diet. This might be good for her and work for her, but scientifically speaking, this can have severe negative effects on someone’s health.

Although she loves sharing her life online, just like Devorah Roloff. Thus, when it comes to adopting a diet, you should get your customized nutritionally balanced diet from a certified nutritionist.
