About the Catering Service 

Earlier, it was compulsory to avail catering services in Vande Bharat. Now, the Indian Railways has made the services optional. The passengers can now choose whether they want meals in their journey or not, while booking the tickets. 

You can either pre-order your catering service while booking the ticket or you can avail it on board itself. However, the price differs accordingly. If you have pre-booked your meal with the ticket, then it will cost you less than ordering on-board.

For example, if you have pre-booked your breakfast, it will cost you Rs. 155, but if you order it after boarding the train, it will cost you Rs. 205. Therefore, you should always prefer pre-booking your meals.

The train is introduced to cover short distances that are less than 800 km apart or only require a maximum of 10 hours of travel. In addition, it is a completely air-conditioned train.

The cost of tickets for the train entirely depends on the route and the coach you have booked. However, the train ticket costs between Rs. 1052 to Rs. 3355, which may vary according to the reservation fees, food, and any applicable concession. Coaches in Vande Bharat Express

The trains consist of sixteen coaches. These 16 coaches consist of:

• 11 AC 3 tier
• 4 AC 2 tier
• 1 AC first class

The EC in Vande Bharat stands for Executive Chair Car. It has 2×2 seating arrangement. Whereas the CC stands for Economy Chair Car. It has 3×2 seating arrangment. 

Even when both are AC coaches, the better one is EC coaches due to space it offers.
